Director Peter Thomas biography:

I have a background in fine art, and growing up without a TV loved watercolour and oil painting from an early age. I spent a lot of my youth visiting art galleries and hanging out by the River Thames and the Solent- filling in sketchbooks with storyboards, pictures and ideas, developing a fascination for natural light and landscapes- and light/ colour on water.

I attended Wimbledon School of Art, transferring key skills of composition, light and colour to photography, and then film at UWE in Bristol, graduating in 2001 with a 2:1 in Time-based Media.

On returning to London after uni I began my career as a camera assistant, and then DOP on dozens of film, corporate video and TV productions in and around the capital. I returned to Bristol in 2007 to work for Digital Visitor, directing and producing the first visitor and destination videos for all the major venues and tourist destinations in Bristol and the South West.

I founded Brightworks Media in 2010 with a colleague, and since then have produced event, promotional and corporate videos for 1,000+ clients around the UK

Around 2016, I started covering PSA (Professional Speaking Association) events, and bought an autocue and greenscreen to make training videos for keynote speakers, trainers and coaches. Since then I have upgraded all my kit to a broadcast standard and taken up work as a freelance autocue/ teleprompter operator, working with numerous FTSE 100 CEOs, celebs, sports teams and well known presenters.

This has taken me into presidential/ conference autocue coverage for national awards ceremonies, and stage prompting for West-end musicals and Tedx talks.

Meanwhile, I provide event filming and photography teams for national conferences- most notably Accountex London and Manchester and the PSA (Professional Speaking Association)- and produce video marketing content for international keynote speakers, and the tax/ accountancy sector off the back of this.

I enjoy being part of the vibrant UK creative industry, creating great looking video content and meeting a wonderful variety of people and personalities on corporate autocue and film shoots in Bristol, London and the surrounding areas.

Recent clients include Lenny Henry, Channel 4, Unilever, Pepsico, Burgess Salmon, BT, Sport England, Imperial Tobacco, Accountex, University of Bristol and the BBC
